What’s Cooking on the Led Zeppelin Front?

Posted: September 10, 2012 in News Updates

On Saturday, September 8, 2012, Led Zeppelin, considered one of the greatest rock bands of all time, famous for songs like “Stairway to Heaven” and “Immigrant Song,” posted a picture of the word “Five” on their Facebook page.

The next day they posted a “Four” and today they posted “III.”

These uploads have caused much speculation and discussion in the music world but no one is entirely sure WHAT Zep are planing.  One can only hope that they will not simply release a DVD of their reunion concert that occurred several years ago at the O2 in England. Robert Plant previously rejected the idea of a full tour, though that was, at this point, a good number of years ago.  We CAN be hopeful.

An article bounced around the internet claiming that Dave Grohl [former drummer of Nirvana, frontman of the Foo Fighters, drummer of supergroup Them Crooked Vultures, former drummer of Queens of the Stoneage and session drummer of comedy rock band Tenacious D, who has worked with members of Led Zeppelin in Them Crooked Vultures (Led Zep’s John Paul Jones played bass) as well as at a Foo Fighters show at Wembley Stadium (John Paul Jones and Zep guitarist Jimmy Page were featured on two encore performances of Led Zep’s “Rock and Roll” and “Ramble On”)] has been in contact with Led Zeppelin and plans on running a Foo Fighters-Led Zeppelin tour in the near future.

At this point, we don’t know anything more than rumors, but these posts cannot be bad.  We’ll just have to wait to hear more.

    Two updates to the countdown:

The “two” post went up: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=380996148639496&set=a.215308741874905.53046.131572223581891&type=1&theater

And Led Zep posted this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qTNQVijx8YE&feature=youtu.be…looks like we might be in for a major disappointment because that video sounds like it’s the audio from the O2 show.
